What is it that we’re living for? Applause, Applause!

Those lyrics from the musical “Applause”, pretty much sums up the life of the performing artist. Ok, it’s not why we do it. We do it because is what we were born to do it, we do it because it is what and who we are, we do it because it is our passion, but oh what a glorious moment that instant when the first two hands connect with each other and then it ripples through the audience until it fills the whole space.

As Lady Gaga says: “Give me  that thing that I love, Put your hands up, make ’em touch, touch”

The NALEDI THEATRE AWARDS have announced their nominees for the 2016 Naledi Awards and Pieter Toerien Productions has garnered a staggering 28 Nominations for productions it has  presented over the past year on it’s stages. Testimony once again of Mr Toerien’s mission to bring South African audiences World Class Theatre, by South African Performers at the peak of their craft.

While one can debate the value and relevance of an awards programme for hours, it is after all just a few people’s opinions on what is a very subjective experience, it cannot be denied that it serves as a recognition from one’s own industry and that does say a lot.

We once again, congratulate all nominees, but would particularily like to recognize the hard work and talent of those who have been on our stages:
