My FAT Friend

CHARLES LAURENCE’s London and Broadway Hit Comedy
Starring much-loved funny man,  TOBIE CRONJÉ

Overly large Vicky, who owns a successful book shop in Hampstead, guzzles comfort food and chocolate to make up for her somewhat boring existence.  She good humouredly suffers the slings and arrows of her friend and lodger, the not-so-young Henry, while failing to notice that her other tenant, James, worships her from afar.

One day a handsome stranger stumbles into her shop. Tom is on the lookout for travel books as he is on the verge of departing to Iran for a four month working engagement.  He strikes up a conversation with Vicky, who seems unable to comprehend that this guy is unperturbed by her weight. The two completely hit it off and agree to keep in touch while Tom is away and resume where they left matters when Tom returns.

Loving nothing more than to meddle in Vicky’s affairs, Henry suggest to her that she should use the interval in the budding romance to lose the pounds and knock Tom’s socks off when he returns to London.

So Vicky resolves – as she has so often in the past – to lose weight once and for all to snare the man of her dreams.  With the help of her friends, she begins the diet and exercise regime that believes is the way to Tom’s heart.
